Project Outline:

Working with OMNI Remotes, we are tasked to design a remote controller targeted towards a certain audience group. My team’s target audience is children aged 6-9. This is one of my design concepts. This product is a combination of education and independence.

Introducing twistales.

“twist” = main motion of product

“tales” = storybook

twistales is a TV controller and a standalone audiobook speaker. Children would be able to choose whether they want to listen solely from the speaker or connect to the TV via Bluetooth for a visual or even animated storytelling experience.

The screen is a digital screen with NFC technology and the sound comes directly from the screen using acoustic surface audio technology.

Using the motion of twisting, you switch through the different controls and press the yellow button as confirmation. The selected control is also displayed on the leaf (the green part). This gives is a more interactive and fun look for children.

There are 4 main controls. Scan, Play, Pause, Connect.
